The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, rarly under general anesthesia. Healing is without any scars. The aim of the procedure is to change the shape and position of the nasal cartilages and bones, and fixing appropriately. At the end of surgery th nose is fixed with external splint.
Splint is kept for 1-2 weeks. Local pain is expected for 2-3 days that can be treated with regular painkillers. Avoid blowing nose or bending as it can cause, additional bleeding! Temporary discomfort is that the the patient is forced to breathe through the mouth after the surgery. After the observation period the patient can go home with a companion. Arranging home care, and comply with the instructions is the patient's responsibility. Patients are being controlled periodically after the operation. Splint is removed in 2 weeks.
